PASTOR'S COMMENTS:

Nothing identifies a ministry with the heart of God more than supporting missions.  I believe one of the prerequisites for growth and prosperity in a church is an active mission program.  In Matthew 28:19 & 20 Jesus commands the church to "go and make disciples of all nations...teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..."

Core Values

    A Commitment to Discipleship

We believe that Christ has given the church a mandate to make disciples of all nations in   Matthew 28:19-20.  We understand that to fufill this divine commission we must develop a comprehensive process for reaching, teaching and developing the lost.

    Excellence in all We Do

We believe that since the church is commanded to do everything to the glory of God (1Cor. 10:31) excellence should be the norm.  Because what Christians do determine how the world will perceive Christ.  Therefore, what Antioch COGIC does in the name of Christ must be first class.

A Kingdom Versus a Church Mindset

We believe that Antioch is a part of the Kingdom of God.  We also believe that our ltimate purpose as a church body is to facilitate the manifesting of the Kingdom of God on earth (Matt. 6:9-10, 33).  Therefore, we must structure our church agenda in light of God’s kingdom program.

    A Grace Based Ministry

We believe that the Bible teaches that it is through grace that the people of God grow and mature (2 Cor. 9:8; 2 Pet. 3:18).  Therefore, we as a Christian church will love people where they are and will rely on the grace of God and not legalism to disciple them.

    Directed by Biblical Principles

We believe that the Bible alone is the illuminated, inspired revelation of God and is therefore fully sufficient and the sole ground of authority for Christians (2 Tim. 3:16). Therefore, all Antioch’s policies and procedures will be based on Biblical principles.

Membership

Membership in the church can be accomplished only after the person has first declared their faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.  Those that meet this requirement must then attend a mandatory New Members Orientation Course that provides the prospective member an overview of what we believe our local and international church history, structure, function, and purpose.  Current membership is 290 active adult members and 130 children.

Organization and Structure

The Antioch COGIC leadership team is comprised of an executive staff (Pastor, Chief of Operations, Business Administrator, Treasurer, and Administrative Assistant); Board of Trustees (5 members); ministerial staff; and eight departments.  The chief of operations is responsible for managing the 8 church department directors.  Those departments are:  Administrative, Education, Evangelism, Men’s, Missions, Women’s, Worship & Arts, and Youth.  These departments are comprised of 52 auxiliaries that carryout frontline ministry operations.  NOTE:  The Antioch COGIC Missions Department actively serves foreign missions in the countries of Uganda, Haiti, and Mexico.

History Antioch COGIC was birthed in the spirit to Pastor Jonathan E.. Logan in September 1994.  In November 1995,  leadership within the Arizona  COGIC recognized  Pastor Logan's revelation and approved the establishment of the church in Peoria, AZ.  Formal organization began in December 1995, with bible studies, until the inaugural service was held on Sunday,  7  January 1996.  Seven faithful families officially united with the church during services held at teh Peoria Community Center.  After six weeks of service at the Peoria Community Center, the congregation secured resources  to begin having services at the Sun Air Plaza, 9635 W. Peoria Ave.  After nine months at this location, the  congregation began to outgrow the facility.  In response to this, the congregation began to raise runds for the down payment on the building and parcel of land directly accross the street from the Sun Air Plaza.  The property was purchase on December 29th, 1997 and in three months remodeled and transformed into a church facility.  Since moving into this new facilit, the Lord's provisions have been nothing short of miraculous.  God has blessed the "Kingdom" ministry to accomplish many things.  During this tremendous period of progress, the ministry has grown to over 190 families validating the fact that Antioch COGIC is indeed "A  Ministry Committed to Discipleship."
